New Hanza offices

The architectural concept of the office building is centered on energy-efficient and rational construction, taking into account its strategic location. Situated directly on the border with the historic center of Riga, the building introduces the new development area, New Hanza, and serves as a transition from the historic center to contemporary architecture.
The design of the building draws inspiration from the principles of the historic center. The ground floor offers commercial space with extensive glazing, enlivening the street space. The facade’s character is defined by the composition of windows, and the finishes use high-quality, durable materials such as brick and wood, which are typical of Riga.
The building complex consists of three visually distinct yet functionally connected volumes. These office blocks are designed in solid, rectangular forms, prioritizing rational and economically justified building volumes. The blocks are visually separated by inward-facing glazed sections. The two blocks closest to Hanzas Street are designed at six stories, while the third block rises to twelve stories. This volume composition also hints at the future development of the site, with the northern part of the New Hanza area potentially reaching up to 21 stories.
