When selecting the design for the Talsi open-air stage, the guiding principles were “balanced, unifying, and calm.” Superfluous details were eliminated, and the volume’s design became a sturdy backdrop for theatrical performances, concerts, and other social events. The arch form was preserved, and compositional elements were added to the sides. The Schreder diffusion system was employed to enhance the acoustics. To promote the national economy, locally sourced wood was utilized as the primary material. Furthermore, the finishing decorations drew inspiration from Latvian national skirt ornaments, adding an additional layer of cultural significance.
